Happy Anniversary

Today is our three year anniversary. It's the anniversary only we and our parents know about. Hubby and I were engaged when he received a job offer that would move him to London, Ontario Canada. The deal was so great but there was a catch.... Joshua, Chloe & I could not move with him unless we were legally married. So, we took care of that little technicality. It's kinda lame to admit but with a couple of silver rings we bought at Walmart (i think), some random errands, and lunch at Donatos Pizza, we got hitched.

Looking back I feel awful about the way we did it. We could have put a little more effort into it. Prior to the ceremony, I just looked at it as signing some paper. I got married in jeans and my favorite pink sweater. We followed it up with my moving-to-Canada-going-away party with my friends. Only recently have I begun to wish we gave it a little more celebration. You know, I could have put on a dress and he could have worn his suit. Heck, we could have had someone take our picture. lol  We probably should have gone out for a romantic dinner. Instead, we got cleaned up and headed out with my friends

We did actually have a wedding five months later. White dress, tux, flowers... all of it. More about that some other day. I do like the way we have chosen to celebrate our marriage. For our January anniversary we have a celebration with the children to honor the day we became a family. I made a roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, etc and a spice cake. It was a great night.

Today honors the day I married the best man  I have ever known. He treats me better than I ever could have dreamed and I am truly blessed to have him as my husband and the father to my children. He is home sick today. It sucks that he isn't feeling great, but I'm happy to have him here with me. :)

The Nail Files - Week 4

I am linking up again with Tara and Vicki again for The Nail Files. I love this link up. It seems to be the only thing I can manage to get done on this blog. Between emergency dental appointments, teething toddler, and completely moving around all the kids' bedrooms...

So, on to this week's manicure. I am in love with my nails. I've loved these polishes separately, I can't believe it took me so long to use them together. My husband actually said he thinks it is his favorite mani so far! Wow, that says a lot. I do my nails 2-3 times a week. Although this week, I am on day 5! I'm going to keep wearing it till they chip and look bad.

Day 1 of manicure
Essie's Raise Awareness with accent nail of OPI Teenage Dream

Day 2

Day 5!!!
May I remind you I have 4 kids? That's a lot of dishes, laundry, and diapers (hand washing)!!

I literally just took this pic! The secret? On day day 3 or 4 I use Essie's Good to Go! and it really helps extend my manicure. I've read applying a top coat every couple days will help. This, by far, has worked best for me. Oh, and my China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base coat is awesome too!!

I used my Sephora gift card last night. I decided to be completely frivolous and buy something I wouldn't spend $50 cash on.... eek!

Sephora got it back in stock online yesterday and I ordered it. I was so excited that 1) I had finally decided how I was going to use my gift card and 2) I will get to see what all the hype is about! I told my sweet husband that I ordered it, and he was like "oh, ok. good for you" lol. I have no one to share this with seeing as my bff is a gay man. hmm. I need more girlfriends. I am going to brunch with Kate on Sunday, she'll appreciate this awesomeness!

I hope everyone has had a great week and an even better weekend! Can't wait to see all your nails, Ladies!!

The Nail Files - Week 3

Linking up again with Tara and Vicki for week 3 of the Nail Files. I am running late today on getting this posted because there was no school so I had ALL 4 children home. I wish I could say it was a good day. Anywho...

This was my Packer mani for the weekend. Unfortunately we did NOT win so the season is over. boohoo. The picture quality is blah cuz I misplaced my camera.

I'm not sure what is up with my blogger but I can NOT get my picture to load the right way. I give up. But here is OPI's Russian Navy. :)

Chloe and I are doing a mother-daughter breakfast and maybe some shopping. If we do make it to the mall I'll be in search of the Butter London Spring/Summer 2012 line. I love all of them.

The Nail Files - Week 2

Today I'm linking up with fabulous but evil and My Vickilicious Life. I love link ups so I think this will replace my Manicure Monday. I'm looking forward to all the polish inspiration coming from today's link-up. (My husband- not so much, lol)  Quite obsessed with polish - always have been. In high school I would paint my nails almost every night to coordinate with my outfit.

This week has been busy with cleaning & unpacking so I went with an unusual choice for me, something light and neutral that won't show if it chips. It was a gift from a good friend.

This is "Yummy Mummy
Described as "Our ‘magic’ lacquer. This medium beige colour is simply stunning on EVERY skin colour. If you can’t decide on a lacquer, then we will for you. It’s this." - Butter London website.

I threw on 2 or 3 coats, no base no top coat- very lazy of me, and its been on for 5 days. Very minimal chipping at the edges. Loving this brand. I want several shades from their spring/summer 2012 line.

What will be on your nails this weekend? I'm thinking OPI's Russian Navy or The One that Got Away (both are favorites and my go-to polishes). I'm sure you'll be seeing both from me soon.

Happy Friday everyone!

Happy New Year!

It's been a little while. Sorry about that. Between all the Christmas festivities, food poisoning and playing with the kids: it's been kinda busy around here. (Yeah, you heard me, food poison. Blech!!)

So, Today is Monday (I think). I will be sharing the NYE manicure and a few other pics. We are still in Ohio so I am not back to to norm around here. The kids' winter break goes through 1/7. So my posting will continue to be a little wonky.

"Awareness" by Fergie
Isn't she gorgeous!?! My husband got me these. I.Love.Them.
The most perfect pink sparkle/glitter heel. I have 2 weddings this summer. I'm gonna spend the next several months "workin on my fitness" and then dress shop!! I'm thinking something black and fun so the shoes will be the star :)

This is my New Year's Eve mani. It's Rimmel's Black Satin and something silver. Eek. I know, I can't believe I don't recall what the polish is. It's downstairs and I'm feeling especially lazy. It is really pretty. I'll let you know what it was. I wore this with a grey leopard print sleeveless top and loose black sweater & black leggings. No full body shots. Not super excited about the body right now.

Here is a pic right after I finished hair & makeup. I like from the shoulders-up. lol

These are all iPhone pics because I've misplaced my camera. I really don't have time to do all the uploading and editing till I get home anyways.

I hope everyone is off to a great year!!!
